Timothy Anderson, M.M.

            Mr. Anderson is currently Assistant Professor of Trombone at U.C's C-CM. His education includes receiving a Bachelor of Music degree from the University of South Carolina (Columbia, SC) in 1987, he a Master of Music in trombone performance from the New England Conservatory of Music in Boston, and an Artist Diploma at the College-Conservatory of Music of the University of Cincinnati. 

            Prof. Anderson has been the Principal Trombonist of the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra from 1994 to the present. Previous orchestral positions include the West Virginia Symphony Orchestra, the national Repertory Orchestra, and the Cleveland Opera and Ballet Orchestras. He has also performed with the Cincinnati Symphony and the Cincinnati Pops Orchestras, and he appears regionally with bands and orchestras as a soloist and clinician.  http://www.ccm.uc.edu/faculty/facultyProfile.aspx?facultyid=161

           

Richard Begel, M.M.

           Richard Begel is a trombonist with the Dayton Philharmonic and a substitute trombonist with the Cincinnati Symphony, Cincinnati Pops, Richmond Symphony, DPO Concert Band and other ensembles.    Mr. Begel has also been a member of the Fort Wayne Philharmonic, Northwest Indiana Symphony, National Repertory Orchestra, Spoleto Festival Orchestra, Festival of Two Worlds (Italy), and the Tanglewood Festival Orchestra.

           Mr. Begel is the Low Brass Instructor for Central State University, Carroll High School, and the Kettering schools.  He is the author of the critically acclaimed A Modern Guide for Trombonists and Other Musicians and the editor of Intonation Repair Tool. He holds a Bachelor's Degree in Music Education and Performance from the Crane School of Music in Potsdam, NY, a Master's Degree in Performance from New England Conservatory, and has done Doctoral work at Michigan State University. Michael Keener, Ph.D.

            Dr. Keener is currently Adjunct Professor of Trombone and the Low Brasses at the University of Dayton.  In addition to many years teaching his home studio, other teaching appointments have included the summer music institute at The University of Cincinnati C-CM, and the Wright State University Music Department.  His performance experience includes the Cincinnati Symphony Orchestra, Cincinnati Summer Opera, Cincinnati Chamber Orchestra, Civic Orchestra of Chicago, the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, the DPO Concert band, and many other Dayton area musical performances.    

            Dr. Keener is the author of The Intonation Tutor, an interactive tutorial designed to help musicians understand and improve performance intonation.  He is also in demand as a professional piano tuner/technician in the Dayton and Cincinnati areas. You can visit his web site at www.keener-music.com.
